PRESENTATION

María Domínguez Alba, researcher for the UCLM and artist, has worked in the development of investigation projects on scenic and action arts in Spain, collaborating in national projects such as “Creation of an audiovisual archive, website and multimedia edition of a history of the scenic arts. 1. Spain 1980-2000” and “Policies of the body and the image: a comparative study of the scenic creation in Latin America and Spain (1980-2000)”, financed by the Department of Education and Science (2005); both projects directed by the professor José A. Sánchez.

She has furthermore collaborated with international artists in projects such as “ORBITA” as well as INTACT project where she was the coordinator untill july 2006. As the artist and organizer in both projects she participated actively in the development of these events, making a specific teleshared action in each meeting. Her participation as an artist was seen in Spain, United States, Sweden, Chile, France, among others, live on the Internet .

She has also coordinated several seminars dedicated to the scenic arts such as “Arts of the scene and action in Spain: 1978-2002” (ICA and the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cuenca , 2004) and the international seminar “Theatricality and Resistance” (Antonio Pérez Foundation, Cuenca, 2005), both directed by José A. Sánchez.

Presently she resides in Spain and part of her investigation is develops in collaboration with the UCLM. Parallel to this, she is formalizing her scenic-plastic work is independently through exhibitions in Tarragona, Cuenca and Toledo.
