  • INTRODUCTION

INTACT is an experimental research project in the field of cyberculture, dedicated to the development of teleshared actions by telepresence and the construction of a network of cooperation for telematics shared creation.

The purpose of a teleshared action is to produce a collaborative artwork among two or more users. Sharing through Internet all kind of archives and audiovisual information o sensory  through software and hardware, which take and place in common areas diverse artistic manifestations in real time. The result of teleshared action is a creation in co-responsibility (coauthor) among users connected, where each one is -at the same time- client/server (nodes).

The conformation of networks has as a main purpose to promote the discussion and critical thinking around remote creation, and also to enforce the possibilities of new procedures associated to it, and the troubles of actual communication coming from telematics.

    HISTORY

The term teleshared actions (acción telecompartida), intrinsic to the cyberculture field, was coined by the multimedia artist Sara Malinarich at the end of 2004, during the development of the art and new technology project Orbita. Later, this project was presented at the international colloquy Teatralidad y Resistencia (2005), organized by Universidad Castilla La Mancha. The first teleshared actions, under the Orbita project, were at the Museo de las Ciencias de Castilla- La Mancha, Spain.

After these first experiences that brought together artists from Europe and Latin America, a new proposal was born named INTACT (Interface for Teleshared Action) with broad perspectives in the field of distance creation, with educational purposes, of investigation and experimentation. This gave to the teleshare action a spot in research centers of art and technology such as CESGA Foundation, MIDE (International Museum of Electrography of Cuenca), Art Faculty of Universidad Castilla- La Mancha, and also art galleries and public spaces.
During the past years, there have been many simultaneous presentations under this format, in different countries and cities of the world, such as Sweden (Lund), Chile (Santiago), Spain (Cuenca, Asturias, Valencia), France (Paris).

    DEVELOPMENT

Among the most significant teleshared actions is Nidos y Nodos, realized in Santiago de Compostela, at the Supercomputing Center (CESGA Foundation). In this opportunity, the participating artists (Ernesto García, Sara Malinarich and Vicente Pastor), proposed an interaction in real time from different points of the CESGA, using the videoconference system Access Grid, also online applications from the net.art lab Trans-Meet, under the artistic direction of Manuel Terán.
