Our proposal for this workshop has been to carry out a permanent connection with Labor for telecompartir.  In principle, this workshop was thought to be a workshop for the creation telecompartida.  Nevertheless, now we have opened the workshop toward the different forms of TELEPRESENCIA due to the interest of other artists and collective by participating and to put in common its ideas on the telepresencia.  In this way, during the days 9-10-12-13-14-15 of December 2011, the participants to the workshop will be able to have different visions relating to these practices.

This workshop is focused to generate a space of experimentation with the new technologies in the environment of the telepresencia.  

It is an experience lived meetings during a week – musicians, artists, technical – experiencing with the telepresencia and its capacity of creating spaces, forms, creations shared.  

The telepresencia in the shape of skype already deeply is implied in the company – at the level I publish chiefly in its audiovisual format via skype – therapeutas do sessions to distance, families communicate – but is also basic to the modern war (the famous "drones") and to the spatial explorations or below the oceans.  

Here we want to investigate their use to create a space shared for encounters, the action to distance, the joint audiovisual creation with software and hardware free – along a week will work in the opening of different stations/spaces since where intervene and to be communicated in remote by means of the test of tools that permit an interactive communication through: the exchange of data, the alteration of the sensory conditions and Environmental, systems of control to distance or the creation of virtual spaces from the Reality Enlarged.  

Besides the work with the technology, is sought to generate a critical focus that permit to question the own spaces since where works itself, in this case, spaces of cultural production and public institutions.  From a critical positioning reflections environment to concepts will be presented like perception, senses, interface, control, reality, the occupation and intervention to the public and institutional space, and the biopolítica.  

The technological tools that will be utilized along the workshop they are the software Scenic for telecommunication and basic modules of Arduino and PureData.  

The workshop goes directed to: artists, creative, or desarrolladores of tools, interested in the Telepresencia since different creative environments (dances, VJing, digital arts, performance etc.).  They are not necessary prior know-how in the tools that will be utilized although yes an interest by the experimentation with these technologies.

TELEPRESENCIA MULTIPUNTO PARA LA CREACIÓN EN TIEMPO REAL

‘Just in case’ surge del proyecto de arte y tecnología INTACT en el campo de la cibercultura y los lenguajes de la telepresencia multipunto.

Artistas localizados en cuatro centros de arte de Europa y Norteamérica se conectarán en tiempo real por medio de Internet para crear de manera colaborativa una “acción telecompartida” en coautoría.

Esta nueva experiencia para la telepresencia del proyecto INTACT, dirigido por Sara Malinarich, ha sido desarrollada en los laboratorios interactivos de la fundación Hangar, Barcelona.

Sara Malinarich, Alexandre Berthier y Manuel Terán llevarán a cabo el 9 de diciembre de 2011, en Hangar (Poblenou, Barcelona), a las 19:00 horas, una presentación pública del proyecto INTACT y la nueva acción telecompartida Just in case, con la colaboración de François Mourre y en coautoría con artistas y audiencias remotas, localizados en Gijón, Poitiers y Montreal (Vicente Pastor, Ernesto García, Las CasiCasiotone, Paula Pin, Madame Cell  y Claire Bergerault).

Durante 10 minutos, con herramientas de robótica, telecomunicaciones y realidad virtual y desde el centro de producción de artes visuales Hangar (Barcelona, España), creadores que trabajan por Internet con imagen, acción, sonido y contenidos interactivos a distancia realizarán Just in case, una ‘acción telecompartida’, manifestación del innovador arte de la telepresencia.

En una acción telecompartida, un número teóricamente ilimitado de personas, no importa dónde se encuentren en el espacio geográfico, pueden realizar una creación artística conjunta mediante una red de ordenadores, no ya como si estuvieran en una mismo escenario, sino con las infinitas posibilidades adicionales que proporciona la telepresencia en todas sus facetas.

El proyecto INTACT (Interfaz para la Acción Telecompartida), creado y dirigido por Sara Malinarich, quien se define como artista multimedia, es “una propuesta de investigación y desarrollo en el campo de la cibercultura, orientada a la creación artística interactiva y colaborativa a distancia a través de Internet”.

INTACT procura incentivar la investigación y la experimentación en el terreno del arte de acción y audiovisual, a través de la telepresencia multipunto entre artistas, centros y audiencias localizados en distintos lugares del mundo.

“Nuestro trabajo pone en observación las negociaciones de la mente en la construcción de la realidad aumentada, así como, la transformación del uno frente al otro dentro de los sistemas de comunicación y percepción mediatizados”, explica Malinarich, quien durante el último año ha realizado actuaciones simultáneas en tiempo real en España, Francia, Suecia, Canadá y Chile.

Para Pedro Soler, responsable del Plat0 en LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial de Gijón, las prácticas de colaboración a distancia y la creación colaborativa significan un campo fondamental de investigación y desarrollo artistico y tecnico. La telepresencia es un hecho basico a nuestra sociedad (desde Skype hasta los drones de Afghanistan, el International Space Station o los pozos de petroleo del Golfo de Mexico) pero muy poco investigado al nivel artistico y emocional.

Este próximo encuentro creativo por medio de la telepresencia supone la incorporación de un nuevo elemento de innovación del proyecto INTACT. Se trata de una propuesta de red de sensores, desarrollados por medio de la robótica (http://www.intact01.net/es/archives/994).

Para Malinarich el desarrollo de la robótica forma parte del desafío más importante del proyecto INTACT: “en las estrategias para la telepresencia queremos ir más allá de “el mensaje sin cuerpo” propio de las telecomunicaciones. La telepresencia en sí misma es comunicación expandida y por tanto potencia la mejora de las relaciones interpersonales con mensajes más corpóreos”.

A partir de este próximo evento de creación colaborativa, los espacios de Hangar y Laboral acogerán desde el día 10 de diciembre hasta el día 15 de diciembre un taller de telepresencia simultáneo y colaborativo que contará con la presencia de teóricos, comisarios, directores, artistas y colectivos de la talla de Marcel•li Antúnez, Pedro Soler, Teresa Badia, Jorge Luis Marzo, Minipimer, Man_Hauser entre otros.
